Hello There!
My name is Serena Sawatzky, HBID. I am a personable and attentive Interior Design graduate interested in furthering my skills in problem solving and creativity through design. Currently, I am employed as a Junior Millwork Drafter at Leedwood Ltd. I am intrigued by exploring and deepening my knowledge in other creative ventures that are related to Interior Design. Such as Furniture Design, Millwork, Construction and Site Photography.
About Me
I am eager to pursue a career in residential or commercial interior design. Ideally, with a millwork focus since I am passionate about that kind of work. I am a very open person to all kinds of opportunities. I pride myself as someone with very strong teamwork and communication skills.
Throughout high school, I rowed competitively, and these experiences have given me time management, self-regulation, and discipline skills. I strive to be a designer who will continually be open minded towards all ideas and designs. I improved my interpersonal, communication, and multitasking abilities throughout my many jobs. I put these abilities to use to collaborate effectively and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
With a strong proficiency in most design programs and manual drafting, I can communicate effectively and show my creative depictions in either digital programs or sketches. As a Designer, we must consider the safety, function, and view of a space to produce an efficient design for others, while thinking artistically.
In my free time, I enjoy doing other forms of art such as painting, clay sculptures, woodworking, and photography. You can find me going on walks and hikes during good weather, and reading at home when its cold. Camping is another hobby I enjoy, backcountry specifically!
